What is the Loremaster?

The Loremaster is a dedicated AI assistant that specializes in universe knowledge. Unlike the Game Master (which runs your adventure), the Loremaster is a reference tool. Think of it as a fantasy encyclopedia that you can have a conversation with.

How It Works

Each universe in Embertold is backed by a comprehensive knowledge base. We index lore from canonical sources, breaking it down into thousands of searchable chunks. When you ask the Loremaster a question, it:

1. Searches the knowledge base for relevant information
2. Synthesizes an answer from multiple sources
3. Cites its sources so you can verify or explore further
4. Suggests follow-up questions to help you dig deeper

What Can You Ask?

Anything about the universe. Examples:

• "Who is the current ruler of Waterdeep?"
• "What happened during the Spellplague?"
• "Tell me about Drow society in the Underdark"
• "What are the main factions in the Sword Coast?"

Detail Levels

You can adjust how detailed you want the Loremaster's responses to be, from brief one-paragraph summaries to comprehensive multi-section deep dives. This makes it useful whether you want a quick refresher or a thorough education.

Conversation Context

The Loremaster remembers your conversation. Ask a question, get an answer, then ask a follow-up — it understands what you're referring to. "Tell me about Waterdeep" followed by "What about its criminal underworld?" works naturally.
