"A merchant is found dead in Neverwinter's noble district, his body marked with necromantic runes. In his hands, he clutched a scroll bearing your name. Now the Merchant's Guild seeks you, the Black Cloaks follow your every move, and something ancient stirs in the catacombs beneath the city."

The Crime Scene

Aldric's body lies in room 7 of the Wounded Dragon inn. The city guard, led by Sergeant Kira Stonehammer, is questioning witnesses. The sealed scroll contains a partial map of the catacombs and a cryptic phrase: "Where the dead walk, the Eye dwells."

The Merchant Quarter

Investigation leads to the antique shop "Forgotten Relics," where Aldric had purchased a mysterious bone medallion. The owner, Veris the Pale, seems nervous and is hiding something. In the alleys, hooded figures watch.

Entering the Catacombs

Aldric's map indicates a secret entrance to the catacombs through the Blacklake family crypt in Neverdeath cemetery. The air grows cold as you descend, and incomprehensible whispers echo from the walls. Animated skeletons patrol the corridors.
